A Moveable Musical Feast in Beautiful Bayfield, Wisconsin
For more than a dozen years, the "Bayfield (Mostly) Schubert Festival", under the artistic and musical leadership of Father Dennis Michno, presented free concerts on Thursday evenings in Bayfield. With generous financial support from many local businesses and individuals, the concerts were a much anticipated part of the summer experience on the South Shore of Lake Superior, attracting overflow crowds to tiny Christ Episcopal Church.
The "Bayfield (Mostly) Schubert Festival" ended in 2008 with Father Dennis' retirement from active concertizing, but something new is afoot!
A fresh series of concerts - "Summer (Mostly) Thursdays" - will offer a broad range of music in a variety of settings around Bayfield, performed by musicians from the Chequamegon Bay area and beyond.
